Booking and cancellation
Understand our policies on changes and cancellations to plan your trip with confidence.
- Cancellation: free of charge if you cancel or change at least 24 hours before pick-up. Later cancellations and no-shows are charged the total amount of the booked rental; a late arrival (more than 2 hours after the scheduled time) incurs a fee (rental conditions, article 4.1). Christmas period (December 15 to January 6): a minimum of 10 rental days is billed whatever the actual duration. After pick-up, no refund is made.
- Security deposit: a security deposit is taken on the main driver’s credit card at pick-up; the amount is shown in your quote and on the pre-contractual information page.
- Extensions: contact us at least 24 hours before your scheduled return to request an extension, subject to availability.
Vehicle and driving requirements
Prepare your arrival and your driving experience on the island.
- Credit card: a credit card with embossed (raised) numbers is mandatory as a guarantee. We cannot accept Electron or Maestro.
- Fuel policy: vehicles are rented with a full tank and should be returned with a full tank to avoid refuelling charges.
- Vehicle choice: compact cars like the Wuling Yep are great for parking; SUVs are better for steep villa access.
- Grace period: you have a 60-minute grace period for returns before an additional day is charged.
Your questions
Is a security deposit required?
Yes. A security deposit is taken on the main driver’s credit card when you collect the vehicle. Its amount depends on the vehicle category and is shown, before you book, in your quote and on the pre-contractual information page; it is released after return, less any sums due.
What is the cancellation policy?
You can change or cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before pick-up, online or by phone. A cancellation less than 24 hours before pick-up, or a no-show (you do not come for pick-up at all), is charged the total amount of the booked rental. If you arrive more than 2 hours after the scheduled time (or after your flight lands, if you gave it), a late-arrival fee applies (see article 4.1 of the rental conditions) and the availability of a vehicle is no longer assured. For rentals during the Christmas period (December 15 to January 6), a minimum of 10 rental days is billed.
Which car should I rent for St Barts roads?
Compact cars such as the Wuling Yep are ideal for parking in Gustavia and St Jean. SUVs and Jeep categories are better for luggage, groups and steep villa access.
